BPA Free - Explained
WHAT DOES BPA FREE MEAN?
BPA Free, means that the bottles with this symbol are free of Bisphenol A. BPA is a synthetic estrogen used in the manufacture of polycarbonate and plastic. Scientific studies have shown that it can cause hormonal changes and negatively affect our health.
The composition of the InfantMed bottle is polypropylene and medical grade silicone, so it is guaranteed 100% free of bisphenol A.
Why should I avoid BPA?
Bisphenol-a is a known endocrine disruptor. Meaning it has estrogenic properties which in recent animal tests has shown to cause a series of health problems such as:
- precancerous tumors
- uro-genital abnormalities in male babies
- a decline in semen quality in males
- early onset of puberty in females
